Gantz Costume

Series: GANTZ

AWARDS: Best Journeyman Saturday - Anime Central 2014

               Judge's Choice - Anime Expo 2014

NOTES: I wanted to take on full bodysuits since I've never made them before. My friends & I have been fans the Gantz series for years, so I figured why not bring the suits to life. ٩(^ᴗ^)۶ Our suits ended being 3 layers with 40 sensors each. I used Kwiksew K3052 for the base pattern, then made a custom pattern for the second and third layers on top. All edges are serged, finished with elastic, then top-stitched to keep the elastic looking clean. I made gusseted gloves and boot covers using the same metallic spandex fabric to give it a uniformed look.

My friends made 120+ sensors plus all the weapons. The sensors were cut out of wood, sanded down then painted. We added blue reflective tape that added a nice touch when someone used flash in their photos. Each sensor is backed with Velcro to help them attach to our suits.
