NOTES: If there was ever a design that represented everything I look for in a costume, its this one. Its a pink, frilly corseted dress with a short, poofy skirt & a big bow. I can honestly say it was love at first sight.
I originally made this costume back in 2008 when the game first came out. I have the terrible habit of over purchasing fabric, which came in handy five years later when I wanted to remake the dress! I felt like the ruffles on my original costume just didn't do its justice. This time around I used horsehair & interfacing to give the ruffles volume.
This pink striped cotton dress has puff sleeves & a ruffled low-cut neckline. It is lightly boned to give slight structure of a corset without the tight restrictions. The skirt has an invisible zipper & over 100 feet of ruffles. Wire was added to the hem for extra body. The dress & skirt are two separate pieces, cleverly hidden with the pink bow waistband.
